Police in Detroit say one person was injured after a fight at a funeral repast led to a shooting on Friday.

Tristan Taylor of Detroit Will Breathe, who became the face of the Black Lives Matter movement in Detroit in 2020, posted on social media from a Detroit protest ahead of time. He noted that George Floyd, whose death launched the 2020 protests, was also killed in Minneapolis.

A man was killed early Saturday morning in a shooting on Detroit’s east side. Police arrived at the 18000 block of Dwyer around 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 10 and found the victim, who has not been identified.

Detroit police have asked the public for help in an investigation after a man who was fatally shot and his brother seriously stabbed early Sunday.

Knoxville police said Moten and victims were in a rental car, traveling to Atlanta when the victims were slain. A third man was critically injured.

A number of local groups are organizing protests this weekend to oppose an ICE agent fatally shooting 37‑year‑old Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.
