Manually back up data & settings On your Android device, open your device's Settings app. Tap Google All services. Under “Backup and restore,” tap Backup Back up now.
You can set up your phone to automatically back up your files. On your Android phone, open your device's Settings app. Tap Google Backup. Back up device folders Important: When you turn “Backup” on, your chosen device folders are automatically backed up too, not only your camera. You can choose to automatically backup all folders, or turn “Backup” on or off for individual device folders. Next to the folders you don't want to back up, turn off the setting.
If you can’t sign into your Google Account with your normal 2-Step Verification, you can use a backup code for the second step. Create backup codes to use in case you lose your phone, change your phone number, or otherwise can't get codes by text, call, or Google Authenticator.

If you change your backup quality from Express to either Storage saver, or Original quality, Google Photos will re-upload any existing photos or videos on your device.
